The Draycott is a collection of ten bespoke designed, revival style apartments less than a two minute stroll from London’s iconic Sloane Square. With the building’s Dutch-inspired original terracotta facade, typical of Draycott Avenue, the internal structure was stripped away, renewed and reconfigured to incorporate ten, purpose built, self-contained residences.

The client purchased the two top floor apartments and combined them into a single unit, the design of which retained the possibility of selling them as separate units in the future. They brought on board their long-term designer, Francois Marcq, to design the interiors. They engaged artisan joiners, metalworkers and stonemasons, which contributed to a beautiful and elegant finished product.

As executive architects at MMM Architects, we assisted in the client’s lease negotiations and in dealings with the Freeholder and Borough Planning department to enable the changes that were required to be made. We were charged with coordination and the running of the project on site, both which were complex. We were responsible for detailed design elements, such as floor and wall build-ups, stone detailing throughout and door & window detailing, as well as the integration of all services. The final joinery drawing approvals were managed through us. We also had major input in assisting the Project Manager with managing Variations, financial claims, and other contract matters such as extensions of time.
