This beautiful 4 storey detached Georgian house is located in a Conservation Area in the sought-after area of Notting Hill, in Central London. This project consisted of a huge basement extension and the refurbishment of the lower ground floor. The client’s brief was to create additional space for their growing family, consisting of an office, gym, living area, dining area, wine cellar, powder room, guest & staff accommodation and the necessary plant space. We were involved with the project form the early design phases to design the layouts. We obtained Planning permission and Conservation Area consent, carried out the technical design, coordinated consultant information, and prepared the tender documentation. The project manager negotiated the tender with a contractor known to him, who was dismissed partway through the contract due to non-performance and non-compliance with the Contract documents. Interior designers were also changed, complicating the project and leading to numerous claims.
